Local Area Shelters

You may have noticed that, while we carry products for cats and dogs, we don't have any in store. That's because we believe that there are so many cats and dogs in local shelters that need homes, it would be irresponsible if we sold them ourselves. If you would like a dog or cat, please consider talking to one of these Animal Rescues. These four legged friends need a good, loving home. Are you going to be their hero?

Based in the White Mountains region of Northern New Hampshire, serving Littleton, Bethlehem, Franconia, Sugar Hill, Easton, Lisbon and other surrounding communities, Above the Notch Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 non-profit no-kill organization providing assistance to stray and surrendered dogs via food, shelter, socialization, and veterinary care. We have also been known to assist with animal neglect and abandonment situations as well as searches for lost dogs and providing education to the community on animal related issues.

Kingdom Animal Shelter is a limited access, all volunteer, non-profit certified 501(c) (3), animal rescue organization. Our mission is to facilitate the placement of rescued, abandoned, abused or neglected animals in safe, life-long homes. We respect the inherent value of every animal in our care and we strive to prevent overpopulation and cruelty to animals.

Riverside Rescue was formed in 2003 due to the overwhelming need for a local animal shelter. Gaining our 501 (c) 3 non-profit status in 2005, we have been able to help dogs, cats and other small critters in the northeast region of New Hampshire and Vermont. Our board of directors has put in place that we will remain a NO-KILL animal rescue shelter for all breeds of dogs and cats.
